چکیده

Abstract Aim The prevalence of Trocar site incisional hernia (TSIH) might be as high 30%, due to this reason is paramount find a better closure technique. Our aim test the TSIH preventive effect placement an onlay mesh versus standard fascial at umbilical trocar closure. Material&Methods We designed Two-Center Randomized Controlled Trial where adult participants presenting for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy, were allocated into 2 groups (Prosthesis and Control). Hasson technique was pneumoperitoneum creation procedure in Prosthesis group consisted complete vertical section aponeurosis by single 0 Polydioxanone stitches, 2cm plane dissection, lightweight, large-pore synthetic its fixation applying cyanoacrylate glue, subcutaneous skin staplers. Control closed stitches followed An ultrasound scan performed 12 postoperative months. Results At 12-month control, 41.7% incidence recorded while 28.5% control group. 6 patients developed superficial wound infection port group, none 5 had operated removal they 4 chronic infections 1 seroma with bad pain control. Conclusions preliminary results study show no benefit prevention presented greater number complications.

Prevention of Trocar Site Incisional Hernia Following Laparoscopic Ventral Hernia Repair

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Trocar-site incisional hernia following laparoscopic ventral hernia repair is reported to have a relatively high incidence. The main reasons are trocar diameter and design, pre-existing fascial defects, and some operation- and patient-related factors. The aim of this article to show a new technique of ventral hernia repair that could prevent trocar site incisional hern...

Laparoscopic intraperitoneal onlay mesh for pediatric incisional hernia—a case report

BACKGROUND The incidence of incisional hernia in pediatric patients is low in comparison with that reported in adults. In the pediatric population, primary closure has generally been favored. However, synthetic or biomedical mesh offers advantages in the repair of larger defects when primary closure is difficult. The use of laparoscopic intraperitoneal onlay mesh (IPOM) in the adult population ...

Incisional hernia in a 12-mm non-bladed trocar site following laparoscopic nephrectomy.

Non-bladed trocars, radially-dilating systems, and conical blunt devices are considered less traumatic to the abdominal wall because they do not incise the fascia itself. Consequently, several authors have suggested that closure of the abdominal fascia may be unnecessary if such non-bladed laparoscopic trocars are used. We report of a case in whom a port-site hernia was diagnosed at the site of...

Fifty-nine (80.8%) patients were females and 52 (71.2%) patients were Saudi. Five (6.8%) patients had minor complications. Twenty-four (32.9%) patients had polypropylene mesh while 49 (67.1%) patients had vypro mesh, both types where fixed intraperitoneally usin...
